I am filling my first guitar. I am practicing on the back which is mahogany. Here's the deal:
DAY1 - I painted the filler on, let it sit for 5 minutes, and squeegeed it off.
DAY2 - Sanded with 320, painted another coat of filler on, let it sit for 5 minutes, and squeegeed it off.
DAY3 - Sanded with 320.
I still have areas that are not filled. Here's the question......Does filled mean that the grain is filled 100%? If I drag my finger nail across the areas, I can feel that the grain is still there and only slightly filled.
NOTE: I previously tried to fill this with pumice, alcohol, and shellac. So, most of the back was already filled.
Has anyone used this product? If so, what am I missing?
Thanks,
Doug Ubele
